Court-supervised treatment and recovery support

Nelson County Recovery Court is a specialized docket that addresses substance use in criminal justice-involved populations. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism and substance use within local communities while increasing the quality of life for those affected by substance use disorders.

Nelson Recovery Court consists of a minimum 14-month program broken down into 5 phases, each with unique treatment and supervision requirements. Region 10 Community Service Board provides therapeutic substance abuse treatment throughout the program term as participants practice the skills required to maintain recovery. Participants work with the Recovery Court Coordinator to develop a comprehensive case plan based on their individual needs that is adjusted throughout the program to continually address areas of success and concern. The Recovery Court Coordinator is responsible for supervision of recovery court participants, as well as providing advocacy and support as they move through the program. Other members of the Recovery Court Team include the Recovery Court Judge, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Defense Attorney, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clerk of Court, Sheriff’s Office, and OAR Directors.
